Maddox, one of 27 people arrested in the sting operation, is accused of soliciting sex from an undercover agent who he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
According to reports, Maddox engaged in online conversations with the undercover agent, expressing his intent to have sex with the girl despite knowing she was only 14 years old. He agreed to meet the girl at a pre-arranged location, where he was arrested by law enforcement officers.
Maddox is facing four felony counts, including traveling to meet after using a computer to solicit a child, and is being held in jail on a $300,000 bond. The arrest and charges against Maddox are a sobering reminder of the dangers of online predators and the importance of law enforcement efforts to protect children from exploitation.
